How to modify an existing report in Business Objects

1. Log in to Business Objects.

2. Click the appropriate folder containing the report to modify.

3. Double click the report to modify.

4. The current report will be displayed.

5. Click the Edit button in the upper right corner.

6. The Edit Report screen will be displayed.

7. From here you can rearrange columns by dragging and dropping them to new locations.

8. You can also remove columns by dragging them from the window on the right and dropping
them in the window on the left.

9. If the query itself needs to be changed (i.e. you want to add or remove data fields that are being retrieved with the query) click the Edit Query tab on the top of the screen.

10. The Edit Query screen will be displayed.

11. Use the same drag and drop method to remove unneeded data fields.

12. Or drag and drop to add needed data fields.

13. The same functions can be used to modify the filters.

14. Once all of the changes have been made, click the Run Query button.

15. This will bring you back to the Edit Report window. Click the floppy disk icon and
select Save As to save the changes.

NOTE: If new fields were added to the query, you will also need to add them to the report. Do this by dragging the new field(s) from the window on the left and dropping them in the report.

16. Enter a name for the report. This is up to your preference. Some people prefer to keep the same name, which will overwrite the previous report. Others prefer giving it a new name (e.g., Report v2).

17. Click the OK button.

18. If the same report name is used, there will be a confirmation window prompting to overwrite the previous file. Click OK/Yes to confirm.
